WAG – reports Q1 sales above consensus.

HNZ announced a 3rd qtr net of 59 cents, a penny below consensus on in line revenues of $2.23B.

PFE – Will cut U.S. sales force by 20% but plans to maintain support for all in-line products and for new products. Company will present a long-term outlook in Jan-07. Company announced in October that it would conduct a thorough review of every aspect of its operations.

NVS may sell Gerber Products unit, potential buyers include Nestle and Numico in a deal that could be worth $3B, or $4-5B if paired with NVS’s medical nutrition business. WSJ

GKIS reiterates again shareholders shouldn’t tender to PPC @ $20 offer.

DIS on Tuesday raises annual dividend 15% to $0.31 a share. The latest payout marks the 51st consecutive year of dividend increases for Disney. DJ

ANN – downgraded to neutral from buy at UBS. Price target lowered to $38 from $46.

BoJ posts $3.1B profit representing 2.4% growth. (DJ)

MSFT - Amazon.com’s Top 10 selling list for electronics yesterday, seven of the 10 products were digital media players. Nowhere did the Microsoft or Zune names appear. WSJ.

SPI, Iberdrola deal- Iberdrola offers 400p per share and 0.1646 new Iberdrola shares for each SPI share. The offer is worth 777p in total, a bit lower than some expected. AP

Delta says it is not seeking a white night - Ed Bastian, Delta’s chief financial officer, told the FT Delta was focused on talks with key creditors and on exit financing, and there were "no plans" to solicit a white knight or strengthen its balance sheet with capital from a stronger carrier such as Air France KLM, its partner in the SkyTeam alliance. US
Airways and its advisers Citigroup hope to meet Delta creditors this week. FT

Newspapers - In an interview in the December issue of Esquire, software entrepreneur and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban picked newspapers as one flawed business -- "undergoing an identity crisis," "trying to grow like Internet companies in 1999" -- that he'd nonetheless like to get into. PD/FCX – Terms: 1 PD = $88 cash + .67 FCX. $25.9B deal offering a 33% premium that will create the world’s largest copper producer. Cash is 70% of the deal and PD holders will own 38% of the combined company.
