aluminum comments from Bear report:

  • Aluminum total stocks of all forms of aluminum at Wester world smelters excluding finished end products fell 3.17 mil tons at the end of Feb 2005 from 3.224 mil in January and compared to 2.967 mil in Feb, according to the International Aluminum Institute.
  • Aluminum Corp of China (Chalco) posted 75% jump in 2004 profits on strong demand and higher alumina prices. Forecasted that prices would remain high due to global supply shortages.
